SEPSIS IS LIFE-THREATENING

Sepsis is a life-threatening illness caused by your body's response to an infection. It can progress rabidly to septic shock and can lead to multiple organ failure if not treated quickly.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Fever, which can be high or low. This can also present as chills or shaking.

Mental decline, causing you to feel confused, sleepy, or difficult to rouse.

After an infection or illness you begin to feel worse, experience severe pain, or shortness of breath.

Seek Medical Attention Immediately: Don't try to manage sepsis symptoms at home.

Call Emergency Services:

If you are severely ill or your symptoms are worsening rapidly, call an ambulance.

Provide a Detailed Medical History:  Mention any recent infections, surgeries, or other potential sources of infection.
